I have this immense fondness for Fairyland BJDs! And let me tell you, one of the biggest reasons is their incredible compatibility with any BJD Face-up style! Out of the seven BJDs that I’m lucky to own, a whopping five are from Fairyland.
Just recently, I had this wonderful opportunity to work on a BJD Face-up for Littlefee Leah. The outcome took me and my client by absolute surprise—it was nothing short of stunning!
“Extremely cute is such an accurate description. I showed my husband already, and he said “wow” after being speechless for two seconds. 😂 Just stunning work!.”

I’m absolutely thrilled to walk you through my creative journey while bringing this overflowing cuteness to life on Littlefee Leah.
When it comes to painting a BJD Face-up for a baby doll, my approach is all about keeping things sweet and light to capture that utterly adorable essence. Realism takes a back seat because the goal is to emphasize that endearing charm.
With this particular Face-up, there were some delightful tweaks. As requested, I transformed those plump lower lips into a more delicate shape by avoiding an all-over blush. Adding to the charm, I painted both lip corners upwards to give her the most heartwarming smile. It’s these little details that really make this baby doll shine!
